Czech Republic: Hike For Smiles Kicks Off

Student volunteer Salma Alqadadha shares this update from Operation Smile LF3:

"We organized “Hike for Smiles,” our club’s first fundraising hike since founding the very first Operation Smile student club in the Czech Republic this year. Despite exam season, we had 10 enthusiastic participants and raised 475 CZK through suggested donations. The hike lasted over three hours with games, laughter, and meaningful conversations. The day before, we set up a small awareness stand at our faculty to promote the cause and the hike, raising an additional 578 CZK through a cookie sale. It was a wonderful start to building awareness and community support."

"We advertised mainly through an awareness booth on campus, where we engaged students directly and sold cookies to raise funds. We also shared info via Instagram stories and WhatsApp groups. Attendees appreciated the relaxed, social vibe of the hike, calling it a refreshing break during exams and expressing eagerness for future events."
